Chairs and leaders meet up (online event)

About the event:

The responsibility that lies with Chairs and other leaders of music organisations can feel overwhelming, particularly in times of change. Making Music is hosting this meetup so you can connect with others in the same role, and talk about your challenges and successes. 

At this meet-up we'll be talking about one of the Chair's most important but often undervalued roles - Chairing meetings. The art of chairing so you cover all business, take all contributions and make decisions that everyone agrees on is complex and can be stressful, particularly if you are a new Chair. We'll explore how you can lead a meeting so it includes everyone without going way past time, and talk about how to deal with conflicts when they arise.

We're also leaving plenty of time at this meeting so you can raise any other issues that you think your fellow Chairs could help you with. If there's something keeping you awake at night that you'd appreciate a view on, we'd like to hear from you. If we don't have enough time to discuss it fully, hearing about your challenges will inform the topics for future Chairs meetings. Leave a note at sign up of what you'd like to discuss.
