Viva La Musica
Anonymous
As well as the joy of singing, with this concert we celebrate the seasons of the year, especially summer evenings. We have unaccompanied pieces by Erőd, Kodály, Bárdos and Elgar followed by Arnold's A John Clare Cantata accompanied by piano duet. The second half takes us to America where Rutter and Wilberg have arranged traditional songs, then back to England to hear some serious nonsense from Richard Rodney Bennett. He set texts by Mervyn Peake, whose serious poetry is said to be full of puzzles whilst his nonsense is full of wisdom!
General Admittance £15, Student £5
