Knaresborough Choral Society (KCS) is a well-established SATB choir in the historic town of Knaresborough, with approximately 80 singers. We rehearse in Gracious Street Methodist Church, Knaresborough, on Thursday evenings during term-time, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Currently celebrating our 40th Anniversary Year, the society performs three concerts each year, covering a wide range of music. We also perform at numerous local and community events throughout the year.

We are a non-auditioning Society that strives for high standards and are proud to have performed many of the great choral works. Our Musical Director is the charismatic young Colombian Daniel Rodriguez, who ensures we work hard to achieve our full potential, but have fun at the same time. Rehearsals are often the highlight of the week for many of our singers.

We invite applications from ambitious and creative musicians. We are looking for an enthusiastic rehearsal accompanist with relevant experience of working with amateur choirs. An aptitude and willingness to lead sectional rehearsals from the keyboard would be expected. As Assistant Musical Director you will lead occasional tutti rehearsals and work closely with the MD to make musical decisions. Candidates who are also organists able to accompany us in concert venues as appropriate to the programme will be particularly welcome.

The Accompanist will be supported by the Musical Director and responsible to the choir committee.

Short-listed candidates will be invited to accompany a regular rehearsal as part of the selection process.

Renumeration and contract period are negotiable, and subject to an annual review.
